Slate Barn Farm Care Home
Slate Barn Farm is a new purpose-built 80-bed care home set within a growing residential neighbourhood to the north of Peterborough. Designed for a regional care developer, the scheme responds to an identified need for high-quality later-living accommodation in the area, providing a carefully considered environment that balances operational efficiency with warmth, familiarity and dignity.

Arranged over three storeys, the building is organised into smaller household clusters to create a domestic scale within a larger framework. Generous lounges, dining spaces and activity rooms are positioned to maximise natural light and views across landscaped gardens, while upper-level terraces provide safe, accessible outdoor areas that encourage connection with nature and community.

The architectural language is contemporary yet grounded in its setting, using articulated façades and varied rooflines to break down the overall massing and sit comfortably within the surrounding context. Internally, clear wayfinding, intuitive circulation and thoughtfully designed communal spaces support both resident wellbeing and the practical needs of care staff.
Slate Barn Farm reflects our approach to care design: creating environments that promote independence, social interaction and comfort, while delivering robust, future-ready buildings that meet the evolving needs of residents and operators alike.
